OUR 2015/16 WINNER IS THE ZAHRA FOUNDATION!
Last night members voted and the Zahra Foundation was awarded the $100,000 High Impact Grant. Due to the generosity of our members we were also able to give $20,000 away to each of other 3 finalists which included The Australian Centre for Social Innovation, YWCA Adelaide and Raising Literacy Australia. Congratulations go to the following organisations (in no particular order); selected into our Top Four.
We had a fabulous night with over 250 guests and around 135 members who voted. We were treated to music by Rachael Leahcar, some dittys by Jacqy and Phillip and wonderful food by the Arkaba and wine by O’Leary Walker. Photos will follow.
At Impact100 SA we believe that when we work together we can make a huge difference. Our aim is to provide high-impact grants to reach under-served populations and increase involvement in philanthropy in South Australia.
To give away money is an easy matter and in any man’s power. But to decide to whom to give it and how large and when, and for what purpose and how, is neither in every man’s power nor an easy matter. Aristotle, 384-233 BC.
How it Works
Impact100 SA brings together at least one hundred members who each donate $1,000 annually. The contributions are pooled to make large impact grants to South Australia-based projects collectively chosen by the members at an annual Grants Awards dinner. Donations are fully tax-deductible and the whole $1,000 donation goes directly towards the grants.
Impact100 SA is a sub-fund of the Australian Communities Foundation.
Our grant strategy includes making one Primary Grant of $100,000 each year. We want to have an extraordinary impact with this grant being a game changer; empowering the receiving organisation to dream bigger and do more.
While the grant recipients and the community benefit, so do the members in knowing that their contribution becomes part of a transformational grant, funding projects within local communities and improving quality of life. Successful grant recipients benefit from raised public profiles, as do the other organisations whose projects are profiled through the grant selection process.
